My Mother-in-law developed Alzheimer's disease at a relatively young age, and we
have been involved in caregiving for over 8 years. The first 6 years we played more of
a secondary role providing support and relief for the primary caregiver. However, a little
over two years ago my Father-in-law died of a sudden heart attack, and we then
became the primary caregivers.
We have been blessed with tremendous support from friends and family members.
They have carried much of the load, and provided us with regular breaks and
encouragement.
This site was created to provide caregivers support and helpful resources. Caring for
a loved one can be difficult at times, but hopefully some of these resources will make
your job as a caregiver a little bit easier.
This site is dedicated to Phil Frymyer - a loving husband and father who devoted many
years of his life faithfully caring for his lovely wife. He set such a wonderful example for
all of us to follow.
